Role Overview:

The successful candidate will lead, develop, and guide a team of marketing Product Managers in the UK. They are responsible for the launch, and ongoing management, of PlayStation products, services and brand initiatives, to deliver marketing campaigns with tangible impact on the UK player base. This team leads on bringing together global and local marketing initiatives, as well as steering comms and retailer initiatives, to form one coherent whole campaign for the UK player base.

Key responsibilities / tasks:

Marketing Campaign Planning and Delivery
• Manage the Product Marketing team of six, assigning projects and responsibilities. Key products and initiatives: Brand, Hardware, Software, PS Store and PS Plus, Platform Engagement, Peripherals.
• Work with Global Marketing teams to implement campaigns for the territory.
• Ensure local teams are building executions that contribute, impact and local flavour to campaigns.
• Escalate and/or determine ways to resolve issues, where necessary
• Maintain relationships, review processes and structures with internal teams and external agencies
• Build (and constantly review) annual budget plans, using multiple internal and external inputs to determine the optimal budget mix, present rationale to secure internal buy-in.
• Work with Finance to ensure plans are understood and realised throughout the year.
• Review and approve milestones in team development and delivery of marketing activity
• Support the development of local initiatives that deliver on Commercial Targets and/or deliver on Global Marketing objectives
• Partner with Analytics and Media leads to understand the nuances of the local market, helping to make global strategies and campaigns relevant for local audiences, then understand their impact for the benefit of future campaigns.
• Ensure Product Marketing collaboration with the Communications function, including PR, social, community, influencer and events, aligning on plans with the Head of Communications.
• Support the Commercial team to bring products to market, ensuring the teams engage retail around product releases and build impactful, measurable plans that leverage retailers' own channels, capabilities and budgets.
• Input into Local business and commercial planning, surfacing product knowledge, consumer and competitive insight and previous product performance to support forecasting or sales analysis.
• Input into Global marketing strategies and long-lead planning processes for flagship campaigns, to drive increased relevance and local opportunity.
• Ensure sharing of information, campaign initiatives and strategies with the Marketing Director, and other territories who benefit from UK initiatives

Management and Leadership
• As a Senior Manager, play a visible role in championing a productive, enthused and valued team.
• Support career development, employee feedback forums, mental health and allyship initiatives, and more.
• Represent team needs, issues and priorities to Senior Leadership
• Champion diversity, equity and inclusion across the business and in PlayStation UK's consumer-facing activities, encouraging the team to question biases, champion new ways of thinking and bringing new perspectives into the way we work.

What we're looking for:
• 7+ years of work experience in product marketing roles, ideally with local market experience
• Solid understanding of paid media campaigns, from briefing through creative delivery to post-campaign review
• Can build and maintain strong relationships, with a proven track record of understanding stakeholder needs and objectives.
• Team management, development and structure
• Ability to be objective whilst working in a high-interest category, capable of using data and insight sources to make decisions that suit the player base, challenging the team's and your own personal perspectives and biases
• Commercially-savvy, maintaining a solid understanding of product performance (from sales through to post-launch engagement trends)
• Motivated, organized self-starter who can react effectively and professionally to situations that require quick response or turnaround.
• Comfortable working independently as well as a team player while multi-tasking between multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to fully understand the range of PlayStation products, strategically evaluate outside brand products and identify marketing synergies.
• Highly-skilled with desktop- and cloud-based office and collaboration tools. Proficient in PowerPoint and able to use Excel to manipulate and visualise relevant data to highlight trends and provide rationale for activity
• Adept with work communication tools in a hybrid remote/office-based environment.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with global and local teams across time zones with flexible working arrangements
• Games or entertainment industry preferred but not essential
