PixelOpus, creator of the award-winning action-adventure PS4 game Concrete Genie, is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting an exciting new PlayStation 5 title in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.

PixelOpus is a Global Game Development Studio within the PlayStation Studios family. Located at PlayStation's HQ in San Mateo, CA, this unique studio is looking for a talented Character Technical Director.

Job Focus:
• Own the design and creation of artist-friendly rigs that satisfy animation and gameplay needs.
• Provide and maintain technical documentation.
• Function as a point of contact for overall Rigging Pipeline both internally as well as with external collaborating studios.
• Stay informed of new technical and technological developments in order to apply them to the project when relevant.
• Working with production team and leads to plan work and assess scope.

Job Requirements
• Minimum 1-2 years of production experience in Game or Film/VFX field, with strong working understanding of Maya and Python scripting.
• BA or BSc degree in related field, Media, Games, Animation, Visual Effects.
• Work Experience with Unreal engine.
• Experience creating stylized/animated feature-style character/prop rigs (including face rigs).
• Familiarity with figure and facial anatomy.
• Experience in establishing character art best practices and system requirements.
• Python and Maya scripting proficiency.
• C++ experience (Maya API).
• Familiarity in runtime performance efficiency and optimization.
• Validated ability to be self-sufficient and be proactive in preventing/solving production issues.
• Strong knowledge of 3D art production.
• Solid understanding of Python tool and pipeline development.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with the development team.
• Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
