Senior Production Operations Engineer

At the center of the Playstation Network is the Commerce Platform that services 30+ million customers every day. The Commerce platform delivers a wide range of services including product browsing, purchasing, pricing, subscription, fulfillment, payment options and more.

About the role and how you will spend your time:
• Participate in 24x7x365 production support of Finance technology stack in cloud environment to support Playstation's operational excellence.
• Support business critical jobs, including successful processing over monthly accounting close.
• Participate in operations team to monitor system alerts; respond to job failures, and work on all issues which impact finance systems stakeholders.
• Deliver root cause analysis for difficult and complex issues faced by the finance systems team.
• Analyze transaction level detail to uncover processing gaps and respond to complex queries from finance, tax, and compliance departments.
• Quickly and analytically write custom reports for finance to support finance, legal, audit, and other teams.
• Financial data model and storage expansion: Oracle, Snowflake, S3, Redshift, etc.
• True Dev-Ops role. Be agile and capable to bounce between operations and development as needed.
• Use independent judgement and applied skills to develop new programs and processes to expand finance systems functionality; ETL programs, Bash scripts, Java or C/++, Perl, Ruby, NodeJS, Javascript, etc.
• Work independently and collaboratively
• Provide high levels of technical skills to deliver best results in the industry
• Other duties as assigned

Essentials:
• Desire to participate in Playstation's global online business report on revenue/costs to business
• Understanding of basic accounting
• Experience with software industry business models such as subscriptions, preorders, royalties, revenue sharing, and bounties
• Over 5 years experience solving problems and reconciling data in complex data environments
• Proficient with ETL Tools: Informatica, Matillion, etc
• Understanding of cloud (AWS) architecture, distributed systems and backend architecture
• Proficient in SQL (Oracle and/or Snowflake). Experience in window functions and backend data model design
• Ability to operate independently with less supervision while also building a sphere of influence within wider Playstation teams
• Passion for pursuing new technologies and constantly learning
• Experience in a variety of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Shell Scripting, C/C++
• Other tools: Linux, networking, code repository
• Flexibility to work remote while offices are closed for COVID-19, and flexibility to work in multiple time-zones as required to support operations
