Department overview:
You will be working within the network engineering team to provide technical support to developers on all PlayStation platforms, via our support website portal, as well as on-site visits, training and presentations at our annual developer conference.
You will be working with key staff in various groups within Sony Interactive Entertainment including Third Party Relations, Store Operations, Consumer services, 1st and 3rd party developers; and publishers in an advisory capacity.
Additionally, you will be involved in an element of project work and software development, predominantly building on, or creating new components that could potentially help our development partners in making great products.
What you'll be doing:
• Understanding of common networking protocols and network programming (e.g. socket, http etc.).
• Strong technical background and good grasp of programming
• Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good debugging skills.
• Action-oriented and will to take up challenges
• Passion for new technologies
What we are looking for:
• Experience in C/C++ programming
• Knowledge of network analysis and problem solving tools, e.g. Wireshark.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of performance tools
• Experience of PlayStation platform would be an advantage.
• Experience in Web/Cloud application development
• Knowledge of source code revision control, e.g. Perforce, Git, SVN
