The PlayStation Studios Games User Research team is looking for an Associate Project Manager to join the San Mateo group. This is an exceptional opportunity to join and work in the growing field of Games User Research.

In this Associate Project Manager role, you are responsible for the tactical and logistical operations of the research team in San Mateo, CA. You will have a wide range of responsibilities and will work with all members of the research and game development teams to ensure successful end-to-end planning and reconciliation. This role reports to the Sr. Director, User Experience Research.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Logistics

As the central point of contact for all logistical aspects of the Games User Research team and the research lab, you will be the primary interface for the communication and operations associated with the lab:
• Maintain complex schedules with tremendous attention to detail, including: scheduling and monitoring meetings, flagging conflicts, and proactively reviewing calendar to anticipate conflicts and coordinate rescheduling.
• Establish process workflow for ensuring coordinated communication and operation, educating all team members on this process.
• Arrange for (and ensure delivery of) food and beverage services needed for testing.
• Handle all communications with confidentiality and accuracy. Ensure that messages are redirected appropriately, and communications are tracked accordingly.

Financial Tracking
• Be responsible for the financial aspects of research lab spending, partnering closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate monthly department spending.
• Manage research project costs and reallocations, including: researcher time tracking, research spending, monthly reconciliations, securing stakeholder spending approvals, quarterly project reallocations with Finance team, and maintaining projected costs for future testing work.

Facility Management
• Reinforce best practices for researchers to request and prepare facility for each project.
• Work with User Experience Engineers to ensure tools are always functioning as expected.
• Work with corporate service organizations to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of our research facilities.
• Brief external teams on the use of the research lab facilities and arrange any access they may need.

REQUIREMENTS
• At least 3+ years of proven experience in a project oordinator or project management role, preferably in a highly dynamic entertainment or other high-tech environment.
• College degree highly preferred (Business or Communications Degree a plus).
• This role is well suited for a person that can work independently while maintaining confidentiality, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with project finance and/or accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel). Experience with use of Photoshop, SAP, and Concur is a plus.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize outcomes without supervision.
• Solid track record communicating in a respectful and effective manner with individuals in a wide range of creative, technical and support functions.
• Must be thoughtful, proactive, creative, and tenacious - a great teammate and a strong support advocate.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and openness to new ways of completing tasks.
• Comfortable with being accessible outside of office hours.
