Associate Financial Analyst (Contract)

Santa Monica Studio is looking for an Associate Financial Analyst who would be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the budget; while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.

Responsibilities
• Assist Project Manager and Financial Analyst in collaborating with Leads, Managers, Directors, and Producers to establish budget requirements.
• Correct budgetary discrepancies.
• Have a great understanding of the organizations budget structure and allocation codes.
• Prepare monthly budget performance reports for projects and distribute them to project manager and Business Director.
• Track timely payments of vendors.
• Assist in month-end accruals and reclasses.
• Work with Financial Analyst to review and track budget data.
• Prepare, maintain and audit comprehensive fiscal reports and spreadsheets.

Requirements
• Minimum 2-4 years of industry experience in a product development environment.
• Knowledge of MS Excel (specifically, advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts).
• Prior experience working with large development teams.
• Previous internal team production experience required.
• Four-year undergraduate college degree or equivalent skill set.
• Strong understanding and experience with financial planning concepts including variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, flexible environment with minimal supervision in order to prioritize and meet project deadlines.
• Must possess a high degree of attention to detail and organization.

Preferred Experience
• Knowledge of the SAP Systems and/or other budgetary systems.
• Knowledge of IBM Planning Analytics (PAX) add-in for Excel.
• Gaming and interactive entertainment experience.
