Job Description
We are looking for a Project Manager in our Software R&D Department! As the Project Manager, you will guide the deployment of Pixar's in-house movie production software, partnering with engineering leadership and key production stakeholders to create and maintain a roadmap to ensure timely delivery of projects and fixes, defining execution strategy for a set of engineering teams. The Project Manager also plays a key role in building healthy collaboration within Software R&D engineering teams and between Software R&D teams and production stakeholders, and partners with team leads to create collaborative and positive team dynamics. The Project Manager may also communicate with industry partners to build relationships and answer questions pertaining to our open source software and surrounding procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Project manage the development and implementation process used to deliver software throughout the studio, including software design, software engineering and technology infrastructure activities for new 3D animation software development, including:
• Create and update multiple complex project plans that span 6+ months in duration and schedules to track progress and keep projects moving forward on schedule
• Clearly communicate project status and goals
• Work with the Engineering leadership to negotiate decisions about the addition/deletion of projects and project tradeoffs to meet goals and help drive resolution of high-priority issues raised by production
• Facilitate interdepartmental communication across the various Software R&D and Production Teams
• Work with the team leads, Directors and production to define and specify feature requests
• Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with engineers, artists and technical directors to provide world-class software development and support for Pixar's film production
• Plan and facilitate team events, meetings, and outings to support positive morale across the department
• Partner with team leads on performance management and administering regular feedback to the engineers, as well as finding opportunities for career growth and training for the teams.
• Mentor and develop the Project Coordinators on the team

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 4+ years in the software industry and/or film production, or related industry
• Excellent personnel management and team building skills, ideally in a software or production environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment
• Strong problem solving skills with high attention to detail and quality
• Excellent tracking and follow-through ability
• A strong understanding of the different aspects of software development: planning, specification, development, QA, delivery, documentation, and maintenance preferred
• Experience managing software development teams, projects, and processes preferred
