Working within our proprietary Sales team as a Publishing Manager, you'll oversee an account-driven adult/children's custom publishing initiative. In this newly created and unique role, you will work closely with sales to ideate, develop, and publish new titles. Working with, and reporting into, the proprietary sales Director, you'll oversee editorial development, managing editorial, and design as you navigate numerous and varied titles alongside a devoted production team.
This is a role where you'll need to wear multiple hats, from testing your sales skills, ability to build and maintain relationships, prioritize and analyze market trends in equal measure. If you're someone who's inquisitive, can spot an opportunity to fill a gap in the market and enjoys both analyzing current trends and particularly acting on them, this is the ideal role for you!
Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
• Analyze sales history, researching comp titles, identify trends and publishing opportunities to complement our current lists
• Manage and expand external partners to oversee editorial development and budget of new titles, to ensure timely completion of projects and ability to handle any difficulties as they arise
• Design direct projects with sales channel feedback, ensuring all parties are kept up to date
• Implement managing editorial and scheduling responsibilities for titles, as well as create sales and marketing materials
• Establish, build and maintain relationships across all PRH sales channels
We'd love to see that you have:
• Minimum 5 years publishing experience, or equivalent industry where you're engaging with Sales, Editorial, Publishing, Managing Editorial or other related roles/departments
• An ability to demonstrate that you're a creative thinker with a keen understanding of the publishing marketplace and accounts
• Examples of where you generated new custom ideas and concepts with a focus on sales, especially taking an idea from inception to the finish line
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, predominantly PowerPoint and Excel, as you'll want to showcase your analytical and sales skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a fast-paced team (we're expecting to oversee 6-8 titles by end of this year and 15-20 by end of next year)
