Job Description
Random House Children's Books is seeking an Assistant to join its Managing Editorial team! The Managing Editorial Assistant will report to the Director, Managing Editorial, and support the department in managing titles ranging from board books for toddlers to young adult titles. The role includes a combination of administrative and project support and requires communication with various RHCB departments, including Marketing, Design, Copyediting, Design, and Ebook Production.
The role requires strong project-management, communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Responsibilities:
• Performs administrative duties such as maintaining files (both physical and digital), ordering supplies, setting up meetings, and note-taking.
• Prepares reports using a combination of title information tracking systems including SAP, FMP, MyHouse, and MyReports for multiple departments and purposes.
• Responds to routine requests for information and refers more complex requests to the appropriate staff member.
• Tracks status of physical and digital sales materials for each publishing span.
• Prepares and manages Edelweiss catalog for each publishing span.
• Organize record of title information changes.
• Liaison with outside text-leveling services (Lexile and Fountas & Pinnell).
• Tracks invoices and payments.
• Maintains reprint library and assists with reprint routing and corrections.
• General troubleshooting
• Special projects as assigned.
