The Penguin Random House Sales division has an exciting opportunity available with the adult retail team!

We are seeking a National Account Manger to sell frontlist and backlist titles from the Penguin Publishing Group to Barnes & Noble. In this highly visible role, the National Account Manager will sell titles from the Viking, Penguin Books, Penguin Classics, Avery, and Tarcher Perigee imprints. These imprints are home to an incredible roster of titles and award-winning authors including Amor Towles, Jojo Moyes, Richard Osman, Adam Grant, Geraldine Brooks, Tana French, James Clear, Nedra Glover Tawwab, and Meera Lee Patel to name a few. If you are a dynamic, team-oriented individual with a creative and entrepreneurial outlook and are passionate about putting books into the hands of all readers then we want to hear from you!

Specific responsibilities include:
• Maximizing sales growth within the established account base by acquiring and renewing orders.
• Preparing and presenting all relevant titles and special promotions to account.
• Attending and participating in internal meetings including launch, sales, and marketing meetings.
• Working closely with each imprint on title development and strategy.
• Meeting with B&N on a regular basis (in person and virtual) to sell new lists and backlist, gather feedback on sell-through, obtain account news, highlight author event opportunities, and acquire other industry-related information.
• Communicating regularly with sales management and Publishing regarding account activities, including reorders, account strategy, etc.

Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with public speaking preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of sales experience with direct selling experience
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work well under pressure, follow up as needed, and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Ability to regularly visit Barnes & Noble's home office and meet with B&N colleagues in NYC with minimal notice
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Prior publishing experience is preferred

The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $72,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.

The salary range listed is specific to each particular open position and takes into account various factors including the specifics of the individual role, and candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
