Job Description
The Putnam imprint of Penguin Young Readers is seeking a dynamic and passionate Editor who is excited about and experienced in YA and MG acquisition and editing. The ideal candidate has strong agent connections and knowledge of the YA and MG market and can hit the ground running, bringing in a steady stream of titles, many with bestseller potential. We are excited to support this person as they quickly build a list of 8 or more titles per year (can include picture books and illustrated fiction as well). This person will report to the publisher and can expect strong mentoring and community within the imprint.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Acquire books for the imprint, with an emphasis on commercial YA
• Network with agents with an eye toward a steady submissions stream
• Present at internal meetings including Launch
• Produce TI sheets, P&Ls, contract requests, flap and cover copy
• Build and manage a list of at least 8 first format books per year
