6 Month Temporary Design Assistant position at Ten Speed Press

May 2022 – November 2022

We are excited to offer a six-month temporary design assistant position in our growing graphic novel publishing program at Ten Speed Press!

Qualified candidates must be passionate about graphic novels and comic books. We require an exceptional level of attention to detail and organization, an eagerness to learn the publishing side of creating graphic novels, and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

DESIGN ROLE
• Collaborate with and support the Ten Speed Press graphic novel team.
• Research talent in the comic book industry.
• Meet with editorial, author, and art team throughout book creation process.
• Process artwork and lettering starting with initial layout all the way to press.
• Track art status from numerous collaborators on multiple deadlines.
• Execute design concepts generated by others, working with templates.
• Implement editorial text corrections to interior book pages.
• Maintain schedules and meet deadlines on assigned projects.

THE POSITION

6 months • 28 hours a week • $17.50 per hour • no benefits
