Associate Manager, Marketing – Zeitgeist

Penguin Random House is currently seeking an Associate Manager of Marketing to join an innovative team focused on demand-based, data-driven original titles and adaptations across a variety of genres. This role will be facilitating social media and author management, as well as help in all levels of data-driven marketing, publicity, and review acquisition.

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced start-up environment. We are looking for someone with an interest in building meaningful partnerships who has experience developing and managing social media marketing campaigns as well as media buying.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with a variety of our authors to create and execute a successful promotional strategy that includes social media, email and influencer marketing components.
• Support author acquisition by researching prospective authors' platforms, engaging with candidates and help with other author acquisition needs.
• Write marketing copy to enhance a social media post, landing page or product detail page.
• Advise and partner with upcoming authors to strategize on daily and weekly activities that will engage large audiences, support sales, drive consumer reviews, and enhance and grow the author's digital platforms.
• Monitor and track author and social media marketing activity thoroughly and consistently, and analyze results in order to gain meaningful insights.
• Pitch press/PR outlets and manage minimum forms of publicity.
• Collaborate with the larger team in order to constantly refine and improve overall marketing strategy.

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 2-4 years of marketing experience
• Data-Driven: Experience in using data to make informed decisions, tracking performance and KPIs, updating reports/spreadsheets, and analyzing basic data sets
• Working knowledge of content strategy, organic social media, email and influencer marketing
• Strong verbal communication skills with experience in client management or customer service
• Creative and strong written skills to assist in developing marketing copy
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Amazon and MS Excel
• Agency experience a plus
• Publishing experience not required
