NBCUniversal Direct to Consumer Group is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead video-focused initiatives that will drive our KPIs and entertain and delight our customers across streaming products for NBCUniversal brands such as NBC, NBC Sports, Golf, Bravo, Oxygen, SYFY, USA, E! and Telemundo. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Video Products, the position will be responsible for the analysis and execution of video playback performance improvement and consumer-facing video player features across mobile, web and living room platforms.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead the integration of the video player framework into the application stack from a Product perspective
• Work closely with the Ad Sales, and Ad Products and Integrations team to define and develop video ads requirements across multiple platforms
• Define and evolve DRM functionality in the video stack
• Collaborate with the Analytics and Data Science teams to define and expand analytics requirements in the video player
• Manage the feature definition for various systems in the video delivery pipeline related to ad targeting or live event management
• Drive the improvement of video player performance metrics including video start times, buffering rates, video error rates and more
• Work closely and collaboratively with video player engineering teams to clearly define and realize user value
• Develop and nurture relationships with external platform partners and technology vendors
• Collaborate with other members of the product team and drive experimentation of new features within the playback experience
• Analyze data using various tools to find the insights that matter
• Craft well-constructed user stories based on consumer and business goals
• Prioritize and manage feature backlogs
• Keep on top of industry trends, technologies, and techniques
• Be a strong and vocal voice of the consumer
• Identify and push through new opportunities for NBCUniversal to continue to improve their standing as an industry leading video streaming platform
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable translating concepts and requests between technical and non-technical audiences
• Working knowledge of digital video players and streaming technologies across multiple platforms (e.g. web, mobile and different connected TV devices)
• Ability to read and understand technical standards and specs
• Willing to work either independently or collaboratively across multi-functional teams as the situation requires
• Able to analyze existing data sets to find insights and implement new analytics to expand understanding
• General knowledge of and previous Product experience in agile software development, including integrating customer feedback into requirements, driving prioritization and execution
• Ability to identify efficiencies and economies of scale across divergent products and stacks

Desired Characteristics
• Previous experience driving outcomes to improve video quality and customer experience
• Knowledge of video advertising
• Knowledge of video and content technology including production work streams, content management systems, and digital asset management
• Experience in developing mobile, web, and/or living room products for consumers
• Experience in defining and executing A/B and multi-variate tests across platforms
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Understanding of data capture and analysis tools including Adobe Heartbeat, Comscore, Nielsen, Conviva and/or Amplitude
• Basic understanding of digital ad insertion and ad measurement (e.g. ad beacons, IAB Open Measurement, Comscore VCE or Nielsen DAR)
• Curious in nature and able to balance what the data says with what your gut tells you
• Extremely collaborative
