Position Overview:
Direct report to the VP, Controller
Summary: Product owner for SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) tool that is client/business-facing and partners with controllership; someone that can communicate effectively among IT, finance and controllership on application design, implementation and integration and functionality based on the accounting/controllership needs. This role will be 50% controllership/finance based, 25% systems understanding, 25% project liason/oversight/management. This role will begin with approximately a year of initial implementation and then continue into an operational phase with a backlog of shorter implementations and management of the system.

Must haves:
• Experience mentoring or managing a small team
• Product Owner or Delivery Manager background
• Experience working peripherally with IT and with business groups (not an IT person that has only interacted with IT group)
• Background supporting finance systems - Knowledge of finance systems and SAP - prefer to have hands on work experience of developing a finance system
• Knowledge of finance and how a controllership function operates with its deliverables and understanding of the importance of application controls for a sound finance organization
• Ability to interact and have a conversation with the business partners and put pen to paper on soluti Business Requirements
• Experience building functional requirements and communicating them to the IT organization
• Experience coming up with solutions and partnering with the business side (not just supporting them but being a true partner and value add)
• SOX Controls experience & integration of controls within systems (ITGC – IT general controls experience)

Responsibilities:
• Provide product ownership of BRIM application which support multiple finance/controllership functions at DTC, specifically Peacock
• Partner with key business stake holders to Identify strategic opportunities to unify application functionality
• Build a short- and long-term finance road-map, ensuring alignment of use of product and successful delivery of features based on most critical business value
• Define a common approach to demand identification, prioritization, funding, and operating mechanisms
• Key participant and contributor to internal meetings on product implementation and integration
• Coordinate on-going systems maintenance and upgrades with no disruption to services
• Partner with vendors, including third-party consultants to clearly define functional needs of application that supports Company use and implementation of application with keen knowledge or maintain a sound control environment
• Monitor the market to gain knowledge and understanding of continued use of application
• Identify opportunities for business process efficiencies
• Contributes to briefings of staff and management
• Manage, train and develop the team, currently one resource
• Oversight of business unit testing prior to system implementation and after initial go live for future sprints
• Manage source system control implementation project with E&Y to ensure source data is accurate for input into the BRIM system

Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field, IT project management, IT portfolio management, business operations role within a global technology organization
• Must have high degree of computer literacy and advanced knowledge of software tools relevant to this role
• First-rate written and oral communication; and the ability to build strong relationships quickly
• Able to communicate complex technical concepts to multiple audiences
• Detail orientated but ability to see the big picture and priorities accordingly
• Team player with a strong work ethic but able to work effectively without close supervision
• Proactive, with the confidence to assess a situation and take action
• Ability to demonstrate strong negotiating skills and a track record of sound business decisions and good judgment calls
• Ability to collaborate effectively and manage relationships with key internal and external clients
• Confident and assured in circumstances where there are complex /contentious issues and conflicts of interest, remain robust in the face of unreceptive contacts, and to possess the resilience to sustain performance under such pressures.

Desired Characteristics
• Experience in Direct to Consumer industry and/or Media & Entertainment
• Accounting/Finance and IT background

• Adaptive and ability to learn quickly
• Experience with financial ERP systems, specifically SAP and agile/project management tools like Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project or similar tools
• Expertise in PowerPoint and Excel
• Combine strong technical acumen with clear communication and stakeholder leadership to define strategic direction, drive product requirements, and manage trade-offs on all technology development
• Be able to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees
• Able to work independently, plan workloads and deliver on commitments
• Personally driven to utilize both proven and unique solutions to address business problems until issue is resolved
