Peacock Kids is looking for an experienced executive with extensive storytelling experience to oversee our digital-native, short-form programming. This person will be responsible for leading a creative team in developing & producing high quality, entertaining and engaging content for YouTube that consistently exceeds expectations, and will help shape the vision, voice, and strategy of our YouTube channels. This position plays a key role in growing both NBCU's brands and our overall kid audience on YouTube.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire creative process (concept, development, production & post) for our digital studio including branded and new original content
• Provide notes on pitches, stories, outlines, scripts and cuts
• Ensure all deliverables are meeting expectations, including alignment with brand, quality of work product, and timelines
• Effectively lead a team of in-house producers
• Encourage and incubate new original series
• Develop & coach team members' skills
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
• Receive and review pitches from external sources
• Develop and maintain relationships with talent (writers, producers, directors, agents, production companies, actors, etc.),
• Identify the creators of tomorrow and actively pursue business with them
• Collaborate closely with the Physical Production team to generate cost-effective project budgets and schedules as well as to ensure on time & budget delivery
• Collaborate closely with the Content Strategy team to create, advance, and improve original content by leveraging their data & insights to ensure our content is optimized for its intended platform
• Partner with other departments such as Business Affairs for talent and production agreements, and S&P for clearance
• Push to make everything better: yourself, your team, our relationships with clients, and the work we're producing
Qualifications/Requirements
• 10+ years of development/production experience (5+ years in digital media)
• 4+ years in a management role, leading a team
• Strong, up-to-date knowledge of YouTube, current/emerging digital platforms, and the kids' entertainment industry, including best practices and trends that inspire and push our work
• A high proficiency in delivering creative feedback at each stage of the production process resulting in commercially successful digital content
• A track record of astute oversight and management of creative, with an emphasis on providing mentorship to more junior creatives
• Deep understanding of low-cost production including the ability to accurately ballpark budgets & production logistics on the fly and foresee issues before they arise
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills - written, presentation, and storytelling
• A scrappy, start-up, mindset with the experience and confidence to step in and fill gaps at every level as well as an openness to thinking beyond traditional formats and existing models in media.
