The Position
As part of the Direct-to-Consumer Decision Sciences team, the Director of Data Governance will have a cross-functional with responsibility to lead operational data privacy and data compliance initiatives within Peacock and other related Direct-to-Consumer products. The Director, Data Governance will also lead our partnership with the enterprise-wide Data Governance and Privacy functions.

This function requires acute attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, teamwork and understanding of complex privacy regulations and requirements. The incumbent is accountable for developing and implementing Personal Information Governance principles, supporting the creation and operationalization of processes, and standards within Peacock to ensure coordination, standardization, and alignment across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Partner effectively with technical and non-technical leadership to develop and deploy privacy compliance audit mechanisms in product strategy, roadmaps, business processes and foster awareness of legal and regulatory guidance such as GDPR, CCPA, COPPA & VPPA
• Serve as a liaison with data stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and understanding of evolving data privacy requirements, evaluating risks and providing recommendations / solutions in a timely manner
• Understand the end-to-end data lifecycle of Peacock and related compliance obligations and controls including purging of customer data based on user activity and preferences
• Create scalable frameworks, standards and data privacy best practices across our data ecosystem and lifecycle
• Lead and perform data privacy and compliance audits for key issues related to PII, CCPA, legal guidance, launch preparedness and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Identifying and inventorying issues, suggested improvements, and aid in tracking and implementing fixes.
• Act as primary contact with Comcast Global Audit (CGA) and Sky Data Governance for reviews of privacy capabilities within Peacock
• Ensure privacy impact assessments and security assessments are completed for system and processes in scope, including vendor management
• Coordinate with the Privacy Office to facilitate training and awareness within Peacock

Qualifications/Requirements
• 5+ years of experience working with regulatory compliance frameworks, emphasis on data privacy specific solutions
• 3-5+ years of primary experience in defining, documenting, and implementing Data Governance best practices, data requirements, policies & procedures, preferably with consumer data in a large organization
• 3-4+ years of technical experience with data & analytics platforms, specific exposure to real time data environments a plus
• Understanding of consumer privacy statutes and maintain current on data trends and legal implications
• BA/BS in technical or quantitative discipline or significant relevant work experience, Graduate work in Law, Privacy, or Regulatory Policy a plus

• Experience with Data Acceptable Use, Data Access Governance, Data Protection, Data Retention, and other applicable regulations
• Experience working successfully with stakeholders and partner teams to translate business needs into governance structure
• Ability to effectively collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to drive results
• Self-starter with meticulous attention to detail; metrics/data-driven
• Experience within a technology organization in the media or entertainment industry highly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and manage multiple tracks of work
• Adaptable and ability to learn quickly
• Demonstrated understanding of Data Lifecycle management, including obfuscation techniques
• Experience working with and navigating a matrixed organization composed of technology horizontals and business focused verticals Stakeholder facilitation with business and technical executives
