Senior Director, Media Operations Center (Hybrid)

Status: Full-time/Regular/Exempt

Supervisor: Vice President, Content Operations

Position Overview:

The Content Operations team is responsible for the processing and delivery of thousands of hours of content for PBS member stations and audiences. The Sr. Director, Media Operations Center leads the Content Operations teams responsible for the PBS media supply chain which includes media management, QC, ingest, and post production. The incumbent will continue PBS's efforts to automate and scale the supply chain in support of a multiplatform distribution strategy. As a leader in Technology & Operations, the Sr. Director will foster an environment of collaboration, service and continuous learning and improvement. The Sr. Director will support Technology & Operations senior management in the planning and execution of strategic goals. They will work cross collaboratively with customers and support teams to drive change in support of the PBS mission.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of media to various endpoints including broadcast, owned OTT platforms and third party SVOD and FVOD distributors.

• Lead multiple teams responsible for media management, processing, post production and delivery of media

• Responsible for continuous improvement of media supply chain

• Partner with content teams to ensure MOC services are aligned with current and future content distribution strategies.

• Manage vendors relationships including POCs, RFPs, onboarding, contracting, SLAs and issue resolution.

• Successfully execute multiple projects simultaneously

• Plan and manage Media Operations Center budgets

• Partner with Content Operations, Software Development and IT teams to procure, test and launch new systems and workflows.

Requirements for success:
• 10+ years' experience in the media and entertainment industry

• 7+ years' of leadership responsibilities

• Bachelors' degree in a related field or equivalent experience in media operations and post production

• Experience designing and implementing media supply chain infrastructure and workflows

• Experience developing and implementing technical training programs. A strong understanding of IT architecture and concepts

Technical Skills
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the following systems and concepts:

• Cloud operations and solutions

• Media management solutions

• Localization workflows

• Automated QC

• AI/ML driven services

• OTT delivery platforms

• Post Production workflows and NLE solutions

Other Skills/Abilities
• Strong management skills, including the ability to provide direction and regular feedback to team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage overlapping deadlines

• Ability to practice innovative and creative thinking, and to motivate others to do the same

• Ability to collaborate as a team player with all levels of staff and external stakeholders

• Ability to organize, manage and motivate inter-departmental teams.

• Serves as a subject matter expert in field(s), staying current in requisite skills and sharing new knowledge and practices with relevant team members
