POSITION TITLE: Project Manager – Digital Video

DEPARTMENT: Streaming Platform Strategy and Operations

CORPORATE AREA: PBS Digital & Marketing
STATUS: Fixed 3-Year Term - Grant

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting efforts related to the Audience Engagement grant. The Audience Engagement project is a 3-year grant funded project that aims to expand the capacity for PBS and Member Stations to grow prospective audiences and engaging more deeply with audiences across all digital platforms. The Project Manager will help support and execute on strategies developed by the Business Intelligence, Marketing, Product, Streaming Platform and Station Services project leads. These strategies include but aren't limited to implementing audience segmentation tools, recommendation engine technologies, data analysis and collection methodologies, audience engagement tactics, tailored marketing, or membership campaigns, etc.

The ultimate objective is for this role is to support development of unique and compelling experiences across all digital touchpoints including streaming platforms, newsletters, marketing materials, etc. All of which are needed to keep PBS and PBS Member Stations competitive in the ever-evolving media landscape.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with the Streaming Platform Strategy and Operations team to execute overall project strategy

• Serve as the primary lead for all internal and external project communications

• Convene and set agendas for reoccurring and focused meetings with the cross-departmental working group, vendors, PBS member stations and Producers, etc.

• Create and support training material for internal and external stakeholders, as needed

• Support and manage grant deliverable process which includes but isn't limited to updating key stakeholders, consolidating status reports on various projects, crafting messaging and talking points for presentations about grant work, budget related information, etc.

• Collaborate with other grant positions to develop and support efforts to engagement new and existing audiences across PBS-owned (i.e., PBS Video App and PBS.org) and third-party digital platforms (i.e. social platforms, YouTube, etc.)

• Research related media trends and stay up to date on technology, news, and trends in order to assist in keeping PBS and its digital offerings both competitive and true to our mission.

Requirements for success:
• Bachelor's degree preferred in area of study Business, Communication, Data Analysis, Marketing, Product Development, or related field.

• 3-5 years of professional work experience in related field.

• Proven ability to make effective use of time, plan ahead, and coordinate multiple projects.

• Highly developed organizational and communication skills.

• Strict attention to details.

• Ability to organize and manage work across multiple departments and organizations with varying levels of expertise.

• Some knowledge of non-linear video channels – digital streaming services, platforms, devices, etc.

• Some knowledge of basic marketing tactics and trends.

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment.

• Strong communication and writing skills.

• Interest in gaining experience with digital platforms, streaming services, broadcast networks and audience growth strategies.

• Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with internal and external teams.

• Strong project management and organizational skills.

• Ability to take initiative and act independently and proactively.

• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
