Team: Creative Services

Status: Full-time/Regular/Exempt

The Creative Services department produces materials to support multiplatform marketing strategies, including broadcast promo spots, printed posters and collateral, digital ad creative, social graphics, and long- and short-form video content; equally important, the department is the designated internal 'agency' to serve many of the needs of PBS stakeholders such as Corporate, Foundation, PBS Education/Learning Media, and PBSd (Distribution/home entertainment/VOD).

The Production Manager acts as a central hub for prompting, collecting, and disseminating information between Creative Services and other departments, including Marketing Strategy, Social Media, Communications/PR, Foundation, Corporate, PBSd, and Programming. The incumbent maintains a master project calendar for the purpose of tracking and prioritizing work requests and keeping the Creative Services team aware of schedule, to ensure that deadlines are met.

The position requires strong organizational skills; a strong familiarity with current broadcasting, media promotion, marketing and advertising processes; enthusiasm for forging relationships and maintaining open communication with multiple groups; and also demands strong diplomacy and collaboration skills to ensure healthy client relationships.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
• Act as ''front door'' for Creative Services team, serving as the main recipient of internal work requests from other PBS departments (''Clients'') and collaborating with team leadership to evaluate feasibility of new requests in light of existing priorities.

• Advise Clients on best practices for work requests.

• Serve as a liaison between Creative Services and clients, with responsibilities including:

• Initiating regular communication with key Clients to understand and plan for upcoming projects.

• Collecting and aggregating information from Creative Services producers to create and maintain master production schedule

• Maintaining master list of projected and actual deliverables, requirements, budgets, etc.

• Reviewing schedule regularly to identify possible synergies or timing conflicts

• Monitoring projects and communicating information (including status updates, changes, and delays) to team and Clients proactively or by request.

• Retroactively report completed departmental deliverables and activities.

• Collaborate with team to develop and maintain systems, tools and processes to help streamline workflow; train new team members as needed.

Requirements for success:
• 6 years of experience in a creative department at a creative agency and/or media-producing environment

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, project management or related field.

• An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

• PMP or other project management certification is a plus

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a can-do, solution-minded approach

• Ability and desire to lead process improvements and affect organizational change

• Highly organized and able to expertly manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Multi-disciplinary experience including print, broadcast, web and social media desired

• Familiarity with a variety of production processes and technologies

• Familiarity with Airtable project-tracking software desirable

• Flexibility to respond nimbly to unanticipated needs of complex projects

• Willingness to learn and collaborate with stakeholders across organizational levels

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
