Position Overview:

The PBS Foundation provides philanthropic support on behalf of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). In supporting PBS, the PBS Foundation (PBSF) seeks private funds from individuals, foundations, and corporations, as well as from select government entities for priority initiatives, and carries out such activities as prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and donor stewardship; generation of proposals; grants management; and management of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Reporting to the Foundation's Vice President and Deputy Director and working closely with database and accounting staff, the Gift Processing Manager is responsible for identifying and implementing innovation for the processing and documentation of gifts and associated data. The Manager is also responsible for training fundraising and administrative staff in gift administration procedures and policies, improving business processes, and creating and maintaining documentation for gift administration. The Manager will ensure gift acceptance, processing, and recording are done in accordance with PBSF and PBS's policies and IRS regulations and are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Process contributions received by check, credit card, online, EFT, and securities transfer including gifts received from third party aggregators such as Network for Good, Benevity, Your Cause, etc.

• Produce timely and accurate acknowledgement letters and tax receipts.

• Manage the processing of gifts from matching gift and workplace giving programs (ex. CFC).

• Generate pledge payment reminders and reports.

• Develop, maintain, and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of gift processing and administration.

• Work closely with the accounting team on gift processing, ensuring proper accounting coding and reconciliation between the gift database/CRM and the accounting ERP system through the use of system integrations.

• Serve as a primary resource for all PBSF staff concerning gift administration policies and gift processing and data entry procedures. Maintain and enhance training resources and deliver training to fundraisers and administrative staff on their roles in gift processing.

• Work collaboratively with other teams to develop, maintain, and continually enhance gift entry, database, and related tools and reporting.

• Manage gift data quality and integrity, to ensure gift acceptance and gift administration policy compliance and proper coding.

• Advise on gift acceptance policies as it relates to gift processing.

• Continually analyze processes and procedures to identify ways to improve efficiency and become less reliant on manual processes. Work with team members to implement change and improvement to allow for efficiency and more productivity.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls; Work with the Vice President and Deputy Director to ensure compliance with IRS tax law and CASE guidelines for gift recording and reporting.

• Create and manage fundraising and financial dashboards and reports

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements for success:
• At least 5 years of experience in Development in a non-profit and/or educational institution.

• 3 years of nonprofit gift processing and administration knowledge and capabilities are required.

• Experience processing complex gifts including estate gifts, non-cash gifts, multi-year pledges and gift agreements, and gifts from third party intermediaries.

• Experience adhering to the highest standard of professional ethics, complying with APRA's Statement of Ethics and ethics policies set forth by CASE, AFP, and similar organizations.

• Experience with process optimization concepts and projects.

• Ability to initiate and lead special projects.

• Ability to develop organized approaches to problem solving. Ability to independently develop and analyze alternative solutions and make recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

• Highly organized with ability to complete multiple high priority tasks within set deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail;
