We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team.
Our team focuses on building system integration and automation within the PBS Media Supply Chain.
Our work contributes to enabling PBS to meet viewers on an ever more diverse set of technologies and service providers to view PBS content and to support PBS in its mission to engage the American public through content which educates, inspires, and entertains.

As a Software Integration Engineer, you'll have opportunity to design, develop and implement backend solutions for mission critical workflows and applications. These applications integrate numerous systems both on-premises and in the cloud. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a growth mindset. The team values engineering quality, technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with product owners and teams to understand desired application capabilities

• Design, write, unit test, document and deliver high quality code

• Create software products, features and enhancements from technical design through production deployment and support

• Fully test all developed components individually and within the overall application context using automated unit and Integration tests.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in close team environments

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or combination of education and relevant experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering roles using NodesJS with Javascript.

• Experienced with designing/developing and integrating service-oriented, message/event driven and loosely coupled solutions, including REST APIs

• Define and describe technical designs using Gliffy, lucidchart , visio etc.

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and ceremonies and experience working in an Agile Scrum environment

• Experience with a relational database; modern build and deployment tools

• Experience writing and executing unit tests using Jest , Mocha and Jasmine OR Experience writing and executing unit tests using C# (.Net), VS Test or nUnit or xUnit.net

• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
