Overview and Responsibilities

The Paramount Podcast Team, a centralized business group within Paramount Global, is in search of an experienced Business Development Executive to provide support for the necessary financial and business strategy components required for the division to effectively manage its current business and grow. The VP will partner with key internal and external collaborators to drive the long range planning process (LRP), annual budget process, business planning, forecasting and reporting, and operations efforts across the Paramount Podcast Portfolio.

Reporting to the EVP, Audio and Podcasts this role will:
• Set strategic direction for and complete the company's podcast programming and investment strategy
• Build analytical models to identify portfolio needs and inform programming decisions, including portfolio management, series greenlight, renewal and return on investment analysis to increase engagement and meet business goals across various brands and timelines
• Lead annual budget process and quarterly comprehensive review process of revenue growth with the ability to represent insights to key internal and external collaborators, including senior leadership
• Support deal review process for large-scale slate and a la carte partnerships across the entire portfolio
• Responsible for creating and maintaining all 3rd party models, including for new and existing external partners
• Manage operational budget, P&L and LRPs associated with all podcasts and brands
• Partner with internal finance teams to proactively identify financial opportunities and risks and provide mitigation strategies to achieve budget targets
• Understand business needs and challenges to collaboratively develop and implement innovative solutions and interdepartmental workflow improvements
• Monitor industry trends and interpret the potential implications for the business
• Oversee a growing team of direct reports
• Be a key partner to Marketing, Ad Sales, Programming, Finance, Strategy and external collaborators, as well as have direct exposure to executive management at Paramount Global

Basic Requirements:
• BA/BS in a quantitative field required; MBA preferred
• 10 - 15+ years experience in a highly analytical role in Banking, Strategy, Finance or equivalent quantitative roles, including 5+ years at a podcast, media company, or entertainment company

Additional Requirements:
• Superior proficiency with valuation analysis, modeling, portfolio management, and understanding of growth drivers
• Experience with P&L management and forecasting
• Proven track record of building, leading, and developing teams in a high-growth organization
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage upwards, and deliver results in an efficient and effective manner
• Ability to collaborate effectively and build consensus in a highly matrixed environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence an audience of cross functional partners including Business Development, Strategy, and Marketing, talent, and other executives
• Strong work ethic and an acute attention to detail required
• Ability to work quickly and accurately on various projects concurrently
• Have a real passion for the podcast space
