Senior Product Counsel, Paramount Streaming Legal

Job Title: Senior Product Counsel

Summary of Job:

Paramount Streaming is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our Legal Department as a Senior Product Counsel. Our legal department supports the global Paramount Streaming group on a variety of matters related to the development, marketing, and distribution of our portfolio of streaming products and services - including, Paramount+, PlutoTV, BET+, CBSN, ETLive, CBS Sports HQ, and Noggin. We are responsible for assessing risk and developing compliance plans for the streaming product teams, reviewing and advising on IP matters, as well as reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of media and technology agreements such as software evaluation agreements, content and data licensing agreements, master SaaS agreements. The ideal candidate has relevant experience in an in-house legal department responsible for compliance and/or risk management in connection with consumer-facing products and services.

Your Day-to-Day:
• Work closely with a lead Product Counsel on the development and implementation of a global streaming product compliance program.
• Meet regularly with local product teams to track feature development and/or product expansion.
• Compare applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions in order to provide a harmonized approach to compliance, and developing and maintaining compliance documentation.
• Review, draft, and/or collaborate on a variety of agreements that support the various streaming products and services, including vendor services agreements, fintech agreements, licensing, and distribution agreements.
• Support compliance review and enforcement by reviewing product release candidates and/or marketing/promotion materials against compliance documentation and/or previously provided legal guidance.
• Assist and support the Paramount Streaming Legal Department with legal matters as needed.

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:

You have –
• Bachelor's degree, Juris Doctorate, or equivalent degree.
• Fully qualified lawyer that is permitted to practice in at least one EMEA country.
• Admission to a US State Bar is a plus
• 5+ years of experience at a large law firm or in-house legal department
• Experience working on Media, IP and Technology issues preferred.
• Experience with supporting a direct to consumer product or service (paid subscription service experience a plus).
• Ability to speak and write English fluently read and understand contractual terms and strong experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts required.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, common sense, and business judgment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, prioritize time-sensitive tasks, manage client expectations, and work across organizational and geographic boundaries.
• Able to learn and apply new information, skills, and procedures.
