Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
• Build and support Avid edit stations
• Manage and deploy CloudFormation scripts from vendors in AWS
• Build and support group policies and general AD infrastructure
• Implementing security strategies with our InfoSec and Cloud Architecture teams
• Evaluating of new technologies and developing documentation and standards for future use
• Providing feedback to our internal IaaS platform, suggesting new features
• Cloud infrastructure management at enterprise scale
• Challenging status quo, suggesting improvements influencing long term strategy
• Coaching team members around best practices for delivering highly performant and scalable solutions

Basic Qualifications:
• 1+ years supporting Avid edit stations
• 3-5 years' experience with Azure and AWS
• Solid knowledge with Infrastructure as code with one of the following: Cloudformation, Terraform, Serverless, Powershell, Python, or equivalent
• 5+ years working in a Linux or Windows based environment
• 3+ years working with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies
• 3+ years managing networks (BGP experience is a plus)

Additional Qualifications:
• AWS Transit Gateway experience with Aviatrix Cloud Network Platform or similar
• AWS Security experience leveraging security groups, NACL's, etc.
• Palo Alto Firewall Administration within an AWS environment or equivalent
• Experience with Aviatrix
• Strong experience implementing security guidelines along with practical experience in monitoring for compliance
• Demonstrated ability to think critically about a problem and visualize various scenarios for an outcome, communicating and risks
• Experience building and securing high availability applications using cloud native tools (Load balancers, Route 53, WAF, etc.)
• Flexible and able to handle multiple priorities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication & presentation skills
• Experience with IBM Aspera/Orchestrator
• Experience with VPNs/Express routes/Direct connects
• Experience with Cisco Switches and Routers
• Experience with IPTables and Squid
• Experience with Nortel/Avaya Network switches
• Experience with enterprise storage appliances (SAN/NAS)
• Experience with Teradici/HP Anywhere
• Show an ability to be customer centric and willingness to manage multiple deployments at the same time
• Experience with Thin clients and Zero Clients
• Ability to work with vendors to deploy their products in the cloud/production
