Is this the role for you?

V Creative is a fast paced department with a high turnover of short-form work. The department produces creative output ranging from promos, social, brand development through to high profile multiplatform 360 marketing campaigns for show launches and Events.

What will you be doing?

A vital role within the department, the Production Manager is responsible for daily production duties including planning of the day-to-day promo deliveries and creative workload. They will also prepare and manage the on-air production budgets and campaigns as needed. You may be responsible for managing more junior production staff (where applicable) and will ensure all creative demands are delivered with creative excellence, on brand, on time and on budget.

Finance
• Manage budgets for department including HQ, discretionary, branding, project and campaigns with final responsibility for all reporting
• Prepare cost estimates for new projects and campaigns
• Report spend to finance department and Head of Production
• Track freelance costs and flag likely overspends to Seniors/HoP
• Adhere to company guidelines regarding production spend, expenses and T&E.

Daily production
• Manage weekly makelist, allocating projects to team
• Liaison for all makelist enquiries and any changes communicated
• Liaise with marketing, media planning and ops teams to ensure smooth delivery of all on-air content and off-air content as required
• Recruit & source freelance teams where necessary
• Lead post-production bookings and clearcast / CAP delivery processes, on-air delivery and off-air delivery with support as needed.
• Ensure timeframes for creation and delivery are realistic and communicated across wider business
• Ensure all deliveries are on time and on budget, while adhering to creative ideals.

Shoot production
• Liaise with programme production teams as needed for them to capture relevant marketing assets – photography and film.
• Knowledge of crew rates and overtime policies.
• Knowledge of both shoot and post-production technologies and advise team on the best use for creative execution (with support from Seniors)
• Ensure all shoot-based activity has relevant health and safety and risk assessment paperwork.

Legal & business affairs
• Liaison point for compliance workflow
• Liaise with the legal, HR and finance departments for all contracts, NDA's, vendor selection, capex, payments, and implement new company policies effectively into the daily work routine e.g. freelancer employment guidelines, expenses and T&E, v/o contract negotiations, be aware of changes to accounts payable processes.
• Awareness of contracts, negotiations and legal issues (with guidance from Seniors)

Line management
• Line manage and support a small number of direct reports, where applicable, as well as freelance production staff as necessary
• Effectively resource and support production teams on allocated projects

Cross brand working
• This role involves working across the V Creative teams which includes Channel5 and its entire family (5Star, 5USA, 5Spike, My5 and 5Select), Comedy Central and Paramount.
• You will work closely with The Channel5 Head of Production and Operations, The Comedy Central Head of Production and the Vice President of Creative for Paramount.
• Help to create the greatest possible workplace experience for employees.
• Drive the 'One Paramount' approach, role modelling great team work and collaboration.
• Be an ambassador for all VCNI channels, internally and externally
• Help to embed the Paramount values and foster a culture of inclusion

What are we looking for?
• Experience with all aspects of short form and branding production: ideally within an on-air / off-air / digital / commercials environment.
• Knowledge of executing shoots production and can, with support, manage photography and video shoots.
• Experience of all types of post production and graphics facilities essential.
• Experience of budget creation, forecast and management including forecasting accurately for productions from key art photos shoots to clip-based campaigns to film shoots.
• Accomplished in multi-tasking and managing multiple projects at any one time
• Experience of project management and production processes across all media formats.
• Experience in solving complex problems.
• Highly organised and planned approach to work.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communications and relationship management skills.
• Highly numerate.
• Excellent administration skills.
