Director, Product, Media Supply Chain Platforms (Workflows)

Position Overview

The Director, Product will be responsible for leading the features, roadmaps, plans and sustainability for Paramount Global's Media Supply Chain Platforms Operations workflows. The ideal candidate will work with various internal and external collaborators, including SVPs, VP, and senior leaders to understand the overall business strategy and product requirements as well as prioritize and communicate those requirements to all development & engineering teams (internal and/or external).

We will work to ensure the successful translation of requirements into high-quality software applications and operational workflows, taking full responsibility for the development, user experience, timelines, and ongoing enhancements.

The role will be required to prioritize tradeoffs, elucidate & validate requirements, and write user stories throughout the development lifecycle. They will also work with input from other areas in the Media Supply Chain Platforms to help understand overall supply chain needs.

The position works with the VP of Product, Workflow Platforms based in London.

Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with key business collaborators, including senior leadership, engineering teams and support teams to define, develop, shape and refine requirements to align with the overall the business strategy and goals
• Define, prioritize, and clarify user stories by working with others to understand use cases, features, business and technical domain goals
• Build and maintain feature backlogs
• Work with software vendors to identify their roadmaps and how these feature intersect with our requirements.
• Create and maintain short, medium and long-term product roadmaps and generate internal agreement with key partners
• Maintain the functional quality of the work being delivered by setting and evaluating requirements and acceptance criteria
• Periodically (quarterly) review the product/applications with customers to ensure all features meets metrics.
• Work with engineering teams to continuously improve product ownership and development cycles via Agile methodology.
• Collaborate with internal developers, designers, media operations and external partners to conceive, implement and lead product features
• Develop documentation, use cases, workflows, wire-frames, design requirements, product requirements, and other materials as needed to support design and development
• Track goals against OKR objectives and ascertain agreed metrics to measure the effectiveness after release
• Monitor metrics and report on progress to team members
• Perform product demos as needed and evangelize across other teams as needed
• Stay in sync with overall company product strategy and evaluate run applications with respect to potential connections/APIs/integrations with other company/partner products
• Own and maintain product documentation including feature lists, roadmaps, costs, knowledge-based articles, internal training materials, etc.
• Study competitive offerings in the market and anticipate changes in available technologies and applications
• Annually audit existing applications/workflows to ensure continual optimization
• Managing, documenting, and communicating proof of concepts around emerging technology as it applies to the video content supply chain
• Preparing artifacts with how-to details for operations users of the system and working with support teams to ensure they understand new features and workflows.
• Flexibility to travel either to industry events or international Paramount locations as required by the business

Basic Qualifications
• Expert-level understanding of the entire media content supply chain and familiarity with media terminology and software systems is highly desirable.
• Experience in working with an Agile project management framework and associated tools
• Experience writing user stories, grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced environment

Additional Qualifications
• 6+ years of working across departments to evangelize and continuously align teams with an overall technology strategy!
• Excellent command of English
• Experience interacting/collaborating with enterprise IT support teams (compute, network, storage) to resolve issues
• A customer-service-based environment, processing user requests and collaborating with engineering teams to provide new solutions
• Excellent collaboration skills, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas – metadata management, digital video and audio, asset management systems/platforms, multimedia formats, and international localization
• Experience deploying software or systems in a cloud environment like AWS, Google or Azure.
• Good knowledge of media file standards, content supply chain workflows, video standards and networking topography
• Ability to optimally work under tight project deadlines
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and resolve urgent issues
• Experience operating optimally as part of a project team and in handling own project work
• A professional background in a distributed global technology environment is a plus

• Knowledge of client and server operating systems, networking, and corporate information systems infrastructure is desirable.

Desirable Skills
• Budget management experience
• Knowledge and experience of Media Supply chain workflow orchestration systems such as SDVI.
• Understanding of media technology, data flows and deployment methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud technology including Amazon AWS is desirable
• Experience with XML, JSON, Web Services, video formats and protocols for VOD and live streaming
• Agile experience and familiarity with JIRA
• Engineering or development backgrounds welcomed
• Bachelor's degree is preferred
• They are required to produce product reports; workflow testing reports and to advise clients on available resources and technologies as requested by the department manager.
• This position communicates with all levels of personnel throughout the company. They shall provide instruction on the technical operation of systems and workflows
• This position will interact with internal and outside engineers, SaaS vendors, software developers, suppliers, media operations teams, and other service technicians.
