Support WWTO, Home Entertainment Distribution and Global Distribution Group Licensing in the review and analysis of content protection systems and content media workflows of third-party licensees to ensure content protection mechanisms are in compliance with Paramount distribution requirements. Analyze third-party content protection system capabilities and identify issues which may impact the security of Paramount content through hands technical review and develop detailed impact analysis for Sr. Management.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Act as subject matter expert in content management workflows, distribution technologies and content security technologies through on-going research and analysis of related industry trends
• Conduct content security architecture reviews of content protection implementations by third-party licensees in support of licensing deals globally
• Engage and negotiate with licensee technology resources to ensure content protection requirements meet Paramount standards
• Collaborate with executive management in support of deal reviews and negotiations
• Manage and track technical review requests and provide feedback and metrics to Paramount business divisions and Sr. Management
• Research and track vulnerabilities that may impact content protection systems, content workflows, applications, video players, content management systems, etc.
• Research current and upcoming consumer devices and develop detailed summaries and impact analysis
• Continuously review policies and apply updates based on industry trends, content platform reviews and feedback from Paramount business divisions
• Conduct application risk assessments of content systems introduced into WWTO ecosystem in partnership with ViacomCBS Info Security and IT groups
• Participate in cross-industry consortia and standard-setting bodies (e.g., SMPTE, W3C, MPAA)
Qualification/Skills
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5-7 years experience with media distribution, new technology integration, advanced/emerging distribution technologies and content security technologies (e.g., Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Conditional Access Systems (CAS))
• Ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels both internally and with third-party partners
• Experience reviewing legal contracts and drafting legal language focused on technology requirements
• Strong industry contacts across media/production systems, content security vendors and industry groups.
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
Desired skills:
• Able to resolve problems by utilizing a thorough knowledge of technical systems and an understanding of the technical flow of hardware, software, and internet-based content delivery systems
• Experience related to audio/video, production, post-production, broadcast operations and internet delivery distribution networks (e.g., cloud, CDNs, etc.)
• Experience with network topologies (e.g., OSI model), HTML5, code review, scripting, etc.
• Knowledge of media and broadcast related standards: SMPTE, IEEE, IETF
• Experience with non-theatrical, digital and television distribution (Linear/Nonlinear)
• Experience with MAM/DAM technologies (on-prem and cloud based)
