Hiring Salary Range: $56,000.00 - 70,000.00

CBS News is seeking a hard-working, ambitious, and tech-savvy Associate Producer for the CBS Weekend News! You will join a team that has a passion for gathering information and telling stories.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, writing and video production skills. They are curious, composed, and constantly looking for ways to innovate – and possess a relentless attention to detail and knowledge in AP style.

In addition to duties at the CBS Weekend News, the Associate Producer will split their week at the CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell as a researcher. In the research role, the candidate will act as an off-air reporter, capturing editorial information for producers, correspondents, and writers on tight deadlines. This may include finding important statistics, studies, or government documents. A good understanding of primary sourcing and where to look for information is key.

Responsibilities
• Assist producers and correspondents with research under deadline pressure
• Pitch, write, produce and edit original videos for our broadcast & social platforms
• Produce with an editor broadcast's headlines, VO's and teases
• Exercise editorial judgement in selection of content
• Assist senior producers in control room duties
• Coordinate feed and newsgathering, as needed

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• Previous experience in TV News
• Strong news judgment and excellent writing, research, and communication skills
• The candidate should be able to work in a fast paced environment and take direction well.
• They must be a good colleague who is comfortable collaborating across platforms and departments.
• Must be willing to work every weekend, holidays - and other shifts, as needed.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
