The Video Technology team develops industry leading online and mobile video delivery systems and IP for Paramount, CBS Sports, CBS News, MTV, Nickelodeon, and the entire suite of Paramount sites and apps. Our team is responsible for the delivery of premium content to millions of people every day. We set company-wide video standards and help internal business units integrate the video delivery stack into their specific online products. Additionally, the team serves as the company's information resource on current and future trends in digital video. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in doing high-visibility, critically important work.

As a Video Solutions Engineer, you will be involved in development, testing, triaging, and release management processes for our video player platform on Android. Actively involved in testing release candidates, triaging issues and bugs reported by our clients, building and maintaining automated and manual testing frameworks. The breadth and scope of our numerous client applications will let you go deep into understanding media playback, as well as giving you the opportunity to become familiar with Ad Monetization workflows, Analytics and Quality of Service tracking systems.

In your role as member of a central platform team you will also spend time helping our customers to tackle integration issues, working with App Developers and Quality Assurance Engineers from our many customer brands.

Your Day-to-Day
• Triaging issues, bugs and feature requests raised by our client applications.
• Implementing automated testing for player frameworks on Android.
• Interfacing with app teams to assist in player integration efforts.
• QAing and certifying player and tracking framework releases on Android.
• Profiling/diagnosing memory issues usingAndroid Studio

Key Projects
• Better release management of our player frameworks across platforms.
• Player integration in new native applications as more business units across Paramount embrace our frameworks
• Automated testing for player frameworks on Android
• Adding support for new tracking vendors in our video tracking service

Qualifications

What you bring to the team
• 3+ years proven experience with native app development on Android
• Ability to troubleshoot/debug/profile apps written in Java and Kotlin on Android.
• Proficiency with Android Studio, Gradle scripts, Build Flavors, Modules, Profiling, Layout analysis.
• Exposure to ADB.
• Familiarity with Exoplayer, Android media player.
• Exposure to testing and release automation tools (Github Actions, CircleCI etc..).
• Familiarity with native testing frameworks on Android

• Exposure to iOS native app development and testing with Swift.
