Sr. Mobile Software Engineer (Remote)

Role Details:

This position will be responsible for the technical development, debugging, and delivery of best- in-class mobile and OTT -applications for CBSNews. You will work with the Product team to implement requirements and collaborate throughout project lifecycles. The candidate should love to solve problems and develop code with the most efficient solution in mind

Your Day-to-Day:
• Work on new features and bug fixes
• Analyze crash reports and determine root cause
• Document code, and provide technical flow charts before project begins
• Give instruction to QA staff on testing guidelines
• Participate with team in code reviews, pair programming, planning and retrospective sessions

What you bring to the team:
• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in mobile (Android / iOS) application development
• Strong experience in Java
• Sound programming fundamentals: experience working with memory management, multi-threaded programming
• Experience with version control systems (Git and Bitbucket)
• Strong knowledge of Android Components
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience working with Agile development processes
• Ability to design and debug complex systems.

You might also have:
• Continuous Build & Test Automation experience
• Previous experience building applications for other OTT/Smart TV devices
• Proficient in Kotlin, Obj-C, XCode, Swift, UI Frameworks and development tools
• Acted as a key contributor to at least one publicly released Android / iOS application
• Experience implementing third party SDKs
