Senior Director, Communications (Sports Streaming)

Paramount+, a direct-to-consumer digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service from ViacomCBS, combines live sports, breaking news, and a mountain of entertainment. The premium streaming service features an expansive library of original series, hit shows and popular movies across every genre from world-renowned brands and production studios, including BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures and the Smithsonian Channel. The service is also the streaming home to unmatched sports programming, including every CBS Sports event, from golf to football to basketball and more, plus exclusive streaming rights for major sports properties, including some of the world's biggest and most popular soccer leagues. Paramount+ also enables subscribers to stream local CBS stations live across the US in addition to the ability to stream ViacomCBS Streaming's other live channels: CBSN for 24/7 news, CBS Sports HQ for sports news and analysis, and ET Live for entertainment coverage.

The Senior Director, Sports Communications will lead all aspects of the strategy and development of strategic communications supporting the Paramount+ sports streaming experience.

This role will report to the SVP of Communications with dotted line reporting to CBS Sports' EVP of Communications.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and define the overarching PR strategy for sports on Paramount + in direct coordination with CBS Sports Communications
• Collaborate with CBS Sports Communications to develop PR campaigns to promote sports event tune-in on Paramount+ year round
• Develop creative PR campaigns in order to promote Paramount+ Sports documentaries and original programming
• Cultivate close working relationships with sports and consumer media with the goal of keeping Paramount + in the broader news cycle and trending topics
• Partner with cross-functional Paramount + teams such as marketing, social and content strategy
• Identify and develop new communications tactics and opportunities to drive additional viewership, engagement and subscribers within the sports streaming ecosystem

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 + years of hands-on communications experience in the streaming or sports industry, preferably previous experience with brands, sponsors, or clients associated with major global sports properties
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong writing skills, computer proficiency, and social-media savvy required

Additional Qualifications:
• Confirmed ability to build outcome driven communications campaigns that align with business objectives
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and flexible to work across various business groups across the company
• Ability to develop positive relationships cross-functionally
• Strong media relations experience with an ability to think creatively and generate new story angles
• Ability to work level-headed, meet deadlines, and prioritize projects simultaneously
• Passion and knowledge of sports content
• Experience with digital subscription services preferable
