Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking to bring on an Engineering Manager for our Data Engineering - Data Products - Division. This division focuses on building tools to increase the efficiency of our business teams. Candidate will work on both the backend and frontend pieces of the internal tools and work closely with product managers and business stakeholders. Responsibilities
• Grow and manage a team of full-stack engineers, reporting into the Director of Data Engineering (Data Ingestion, Infrastructure & Products)
• Propel the business forward by leading high-impact projects end-to-end in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Shape the technical roadmap for the team, contribute to OKR discussions, and lead the engineering agile processes for the team
• Support setting the short-, mid- and long-term technical roadmaps for the team in collaboration with the technical leads and the leadership team
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and growth, ensuring team members excel with oversight and mentorship, are working on projects at the intersection of interest, skill, and business impact, and have concrete opportunities for growth
• Lead cross-functional projects, working closely with Product Managers and Key Stakeholders
• Ensure the team's code and release quality by completing code reviews and balancing moving fast while building sustainably
• Strategically contribute technically - write important design docs, tackle particularly intricate components / features or services, etc.
• Contribute to technical talks and discussions, and opportunities to improve engineering productivity and processes

Required Qualifications
• STEM undergraduate degree
• 5+ years software development experience, including 1+ years of either formal management or close mentoring of junior and intermediate software developers
• Senior level technical expertise in Front-end development (modern JS frameworks, ReactJS, NextJS, JS, HTML5/CSS3, SASS) and technical expertise in Back-end Web Development (Flask, FastAPI, Python)
• Strong knowledge of modern web technologies (NextJS, ReactJS and FastAPI preferred) as well as microservices
• Experience with SQL query optimization
• Full-stack experience, and are interested in leading a full-stack team
• Served as a technical lead for shipping a major feature / product / internal tool
• Has been part of hiring and interview processes
• Highly motivated / passionate, interested in continuous learning, and looking forward to working in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on delivering business value
• Experience owning production services, working in an Agile environment, and collaborating with Product Managers
• Interested in technical leadership, team management, people management, and individual technical contributions
• You are a strong communicator, for both technical and non-technical topics

• Commercial / enterprise experience with Caching technologies (Redis)
• Commercial / enterprise experience with version control (GitHub)
• Commercial / enterprise experience with CI/CD Platforms (Cloud Build)
• Commercial / enterprise experience Cloud infrastructure (GCP)
• Commercial / enterprise experience with managing containerized workloads and services (Kubernetes)
• Commercial / enterprise experience with Monitoring and Automated Alerting (Sentry, Grafana)
