Division Overview:
The Video Operations team is responsible for supporting the video delivery and architecture of VOD and Live content streamed on over 15 platforms to Paramount + and Paramount + International applications.
Role Details:
ViacomCBS Streaming is seeking an experienced Operations Automation Engineer who is passionate and knowledgeable about digital video & VOD to oversee a wide range of video related initiatives, with a focus on content ingest automation.
Your Day-to-Day:
Define improvements and build automation tools that focus on consolidation of various raw data points into a centralized content ingest system
Measure end user quality and various business KPIs with end goal to improve content delivery pipelines
Analyze content ingest pipelines for new and updated deliveries into Paramount + applications both US and Internationally.
Improve and maintain tools to automatically queue content as it's processed into various video quality automation testing suites.
Control existing infrastructure quality and work to build and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in the end user video experience.
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
You have -
Experience in On Demand publishing and automation of quality control testing both functional and video quality related
Python, Selenium or similar experience to measure SLA of our video delivery pipelines
Knowledge of Caption formats,Video Containers/Codecs,Audio Codecs and layouts
Knowledge of multiple DRMs such as: Widevine and FairPlay.
Knowledge of streaming protocols such as: HLS, DASH.
Good understanding of integrating systems such as: CMS, orchestrator, quality systems, etc.
Ticketing system familiarity (Jira,Zendesk,ServiceNow or similar methods for support tickets)
Must be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and detail-oriented with a strong desire to learn
Strong technical skills - a problem solver with a passion for developing solutions and processes to address complex problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Video publishing issue support and escalation experience

Understanding of broadcast signal chains
Agile / Scrum Certified
Experience working with the Platform MPX, Conviva, Thousand Eyes, Elasticsearch, NewRelic, Interra Systems.
