Manager, Ticket Sales
Department: Ticket Sales
Reports to: Sr Manager, Ticket Sales
Job Classification: Exempt
City/State: Oakland, CA
The Manager, Ticket Sales will play an active role in the recruiting, hiring, training, and growth of the ticket sales staff. The position will be filled by a candidate who has a history as a strong leader while exceeding personal and team revenue goals. Additionally, this position will play an active role in the department's overall ticket sales strategy including campaign creation, development of creative offers, and sales and service efforts. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Ticket Sales.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding process for the Ticket Sales department.
• Serve as a mentor and leader of the Ticket Sales team through timely feedback and coaching.
• Manage and implement on-going sales training and development opportunities.
• Work directly with the Senior Manager, Ticket Sales to execute all outbound sales efforts, including pipeline management, appointments, product launches, and prospecting activities & events.
• Attain individual and department sales goals as set by ticketing leadership.
• Utilize new technology & automation platforms to optimize the ticket sales process.
• Collaborate with the Marketing & Business Analytics functions to establish an ongoing leads strategy to grow revenue across all sales platforms.
• Provide consistent weekly & monthly revenue reporting with support of the Business Analytics team.
• Work closely with the sales & service leadership team to foster a cohesive team culture.
• Embrace fan development initiatives and community outreach efforts.
• Has a strong passion to present new ideas and innovative ways to increase attendance.
• Represent Oakland A's at all home games and various events to support Ticket Sales initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 3+ years of ticket sales experience in major league, minor league or collegiate athletics
• 1+ years of leadership experience managing a sales team with demonstrated success
• History of being a top revenue producer for a sports and/or entertainment organization
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
• Strategic business planner with process-driven mindset and attention to detail
• Strong passion for teaching & coaching a sales process
• Ability to work collaboratively across all departments and have a team-first mentality
