It should be noted that supervising editors, like other staff on Morning Edition, are asked to work varied shifts on a rotating basis that include an early morning shift, a dayside shift and an overnight shift. This means you can expect to work non-traditional hours. Morning Edition is a 24-hour show production.

In consultation with the Executive Producer, the Supervising Editor/Producer will also help develop and implement the overarching vision for news, features, digital content and projects for Morning Edition and Up First. As a manager, you will be assigned at least seven direct reports and are expected to evaluate and develop personnel, including preparing their regular performance reviews and making effective recommendations regarding any hiring, promotion, and discipline for these positions. There may also be budgetary issues to handle as they relate to the team and program.
