NPR is seeking a Head of Philanthropic Services who will lead the strategic delivery of excellent and efficient processes to advance NPR's philanthropy growth. The Head of Philanthropic Services will provide direction and oversight for a geographically distributed, 12-person staff assigned to the areas of Member Stations Philanthropy, Events, and Donor Operations. This position reports directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of NPR and will be one of three members of the CDO leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead NPR's Development Division Donor Services to ensure growth-ready strong operational processes to support philanthropy growth.
• Oversee the Donor Research, Stewardship, Events, and Member Station Support.
• Hire and manage a staff who have responsibility for donor services and its supports.
• Partner with other Development teams to ensure the ongoing stewardship of donors and capture of fundraising research and data for renewals and new prospects.
• Evaluate and refine processes to support fundraising success. Monitor fundraising progress and donor stewardship; and provide analytic reports to senior leaders.
• Establish Division dashboard of metrics and lead the Division in its regular review.
• Partner with Member Stations to ensure they have the support to grow philanthropic revenue.
• Build and reinforce a culture of encouragement, respect and open communication promoting a collegial environment that encourages teamwork and thrives on diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Cultivate and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Commitment to NPR's mission, the broader public radio landscape, and high-quality journalism.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in donor services, including deep expertise in fundraising metric and benchmarks.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience managing a high-performing donor services team, including staff oversight.
• A proven track record of delivering efficient and effective operational processes in a high-growth environment for a mission-based organization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead integration of data into decision-making and strategy development.
• Experience working with technology to advance donor processes.
• Ability to effectively engage and strategize with various stakeholders.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience within the media industry.
• A passion for the mission and voices of public media.
• Experience with the challenges of working across a large organization and a wide network that has multiple stakeholders and agendas.
• Advanced degree or record of continuing education.
