Business Analyst (Grant Funded for Two Years)
OVERVIEW

NPR is seeking a business analyst to perform data discovery and technical and business analysis in an effort to find new revenue opportunities in the expanding market place.

The business analyst helps define the requirements and touchpoints throughout the organization for new products, facilitates prioritization of efforts and plans forward momentum based on resources and business case. The incumbent will be responsible for collaborating with all Departments within Distribution on multiple business analysis initiatives. The incumbent will also act as a key liaison between individuals and groups within the Division and the NPR organization and with external customers, clients and vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partners with colleagues and stakeholders in the definition of the business case for new products and services
• Must adapt to any level of technical expertise and deliver concise and readable written documentation on tight deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to pay close attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and document the current state of the system
• Conducts and coordinates financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs
• Gather and analyze data for market research and business expansion
• Collaborate with product manager and leadership oto identify new business opportunities
• Works with stakeholders to define and analyze requirements as well as functional specifications
• Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
• Constructs workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing clear and well-structured specifications and business requirements
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
• Validates resource requirements and develops cost estimate models
• Understands and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
• Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support recommendations. Actively participates in the implementation of approved changes to relevant stakeholders
• Analyze and document the current state of the system before scoping a project to improve upon it
• Ability to catalog existing system requirements and identify new ones into Business Requirements Document

WORK LOCATION:

This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in business management.

REQUIRED SKILLS
• A minimum of five years as a business analyst or related position
• Excellent organizational skills – ability to juggle multiple work streams and prioritize work.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and document the current state of the system before scoping a project to improve upon it
• Ability to creatively seek solutions, navigate ambiguity and change, resolve conflict using thoughtful and clear decision-making. Oriented toward taking action and seeking resolution.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult problems and interact with senior/executive management and external/internal stakeholders with confidence and tact.
• Ability to prepare and present concise, accurate analyses, reports and presentations that support/drive consensus and decision making.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to influence by identifying and presenting information or data in ways that are persuasive to others. Solid knowledge of program/project life cycles and effective monitoring skills.
• Proficiency with various software, including the Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project) and Visio and other appropriate tools to manage people and projects effectively (SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)
