Senior Director, Product Design

Job Description

Noggin is a leading learning service for families with preschoolers. We deliver streaming and interactive learning content that helps young kids develop skills, knowledge and passions through play with the characters they love. We also help parents help their kids thrive. A direct-to-consumer offering available on 10+ platforms, Noggin reaches families in the domestic market through standalone mobile apps, connected TV apps, and add-on channels. We are forming a team of highly motivated individuals who are eager to work in a start-up-like environment within a large media company. We need innovators and self-starters who are passionate about playful learning and comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative-led organization.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the Product Design team at Noggin, including UX and visual design
• Partner with Noggin leadership to set a product design strategy that advances Noggin's goals and delivers cross-platform experiences that users love
• Set best practices and standards related to UX/UI across Noggin products and features, championing the outstanding requirements of the preschool audience including those with special needs
• Lead cross-functional teams through the definition, development and delivery of experiences for our in-market products with a particular focus on mobile
• Partner with marketing team to ensure strong visual design and consistent brand expression across platforms
• Partner with content and learning teams to ensure that design and UX support learning and engagement objectives
• Participate in usability research and partner with insights team to ensure that UX and UI reflect the needs of our preschool users and their parents
• Present design concepts to partners internally and externally
• Lead and supply to the creation of design deliverables across all digital platforms for development and support implementation
• Review quality of final product implementation to ensure design accuracy
• Give constructive critiques to improve the work of others; receive design critiques and apply necessary changes to improve existing design
• Support longer-term product design work passionate about deepening Noggin's value proposition in learning experiences
• Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the design team

Qualifications
• 5+ years experience running product and UX/UI designers
• 10+ years' experience in consumer-focused tech or media; experience with content heavy platforms, kid-facing and/or learning products preferred
• Experienced knowledge of user research, UX and product design methods and practices
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment
• A track record of excellent collaboration with content, product, and marketing teams
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Experience leading complex product design challenges; examples of exceptional digital product work
• Experience helping designers set and achieve career goals
• Portfolio required
