IS THIS THE ROLE FOR YOU?

The Kids' and Family Programming Department is responsible for the content strategy and franchise management of the Nickelodeon branded portfolio across all platforms. The Planning Executive, reporting to the Senior Director – Content and Programming Strategy, will focus on the content planning for our flagship brand – Nickelodeon, with a core focus on the management of two linear channels, Nickelodeon and Nicktoons UK and Ireland, the associated VOD requirements with our affiliate partners, non -linear plans and rollout on SVOD Paramount+.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The job requires great attention to detail, a working knowledge of television ratings, the television market and an approach to programme scheduling that is both strategic and creative for linear and VOD services. Experience in children's TV is preferential but not a necessity.
• Management and planning of programme schedules from the 16-week sign off to release ensuring all programme schedule grids, premiere lists and necessary documentation is up to date and accurate liaising with the following departments - Editorial Operations, Channel Operations and Media Planning
• To be responsible for entering and maintaining accurate programme schedules in WON (Broadcast Management System) to reach our deadlines with SKY, VIRGIN and Channel Operations, and meet our necessary Ofcom/COSTA regulations and legal requirements
• Proactively develop, evolve and deliver competitive linear channel schedules to retain our SOV, suggesting tactics and stunts to boost key dayparts, leverage our content library and drive TSV
• Be the point of contact for day-to-day questions regarding Nickelodeon and Nicktoons, representing the channels internally at taskforces, creative brief/immersion sessions, the ratings meeting and with Channel Operations – editorial as well as operational
• Development of content strategy plans including rollout, windowing, launch and stunt plans and quarterly grids for the channels ensuring plans are competitive deliver on franchise and CP plans, working alongside research, and ensuring they are clearly communicated to all necessary team members
• Administer up to date rollout plans and presentations to communicate plans across the UK business and to the Nick International content and strategy team
• Remain competitive through effective monitoring of the kids' TV landscape and keep abreast of upcoming releases, competitor scheduling tactics and the TV landscape (e.g. special events, terrestrial moments etc…) to provide context on performance
• Work on the content strategy and windowing plans for non-linear scheduling/VOD, working closely with the multiplatform team on catch up and boxset plans for affiliates, and the social team on non-linear platforms, ensuring all Ofcom, Privacy and affiliate terms are adhered to, to drive the viewership of the content
• Working with the Senior Director on the development of the Kids programming release plans and windowing strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention for P+, communicating and delivering these plans across the business

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Exceptional administration and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• An analytical mind with creative flair to identify key facts, trends and issues, and then proactively applying learnings to your planning approach, with experience of working with and interpreting audience research data
• Pro-active, self-starting mentality, able to prioritise efficiently and has the resilience to cope with the pressure of tight deadlines and a fast paced workload with changing priorities, taking the initiative for day-to-day problem solving
• Be a brand champion for Nickelodeon, with a passion for content, and proven communication skills both written and verbal with an ability to assimilate information and content priorities
• You have worked collaboratively on multi-departmental initiatives
• You are a creative problem solver with outstanding organizational skills, time management skills, flexible, resilient, and an ability to adapt to change
• A dedication to delivering high levels of service to both internal and external contacts, and completion of tasks to the very highest standards
• Proactive team player
• The ability to work effectively, both independently and in harmony with all levels within the organisation
• Expert level IT skills across all MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and broadcast management systems, ideally What's On, with the ability to rapidly understand other corporate systems.
