SUPERVISING PRODUCER (UPCOMING UNTITLED CG SERIES)

Overview and Responsibilities

Reports to: Executive Producer (creative)

Line Producer and VP/General Manager (administrative)

Summary:
• Works with Executive Producer, Line Producer and CG Supervisor in overseeing all aspects of development, pre-production, overseas production and post-production.
• The Supervising Producer will with work on level with the CG Supervisor to determine the pipeline and working methodologies during the development and pre-build stages of shows.
• Duties include giving upper level input regarding artist management and resource planning. Responsible for helping develop the creative vision with the CG Supervisor by having an oversight of the entire production; ensuring the flow of communication and the establishment of an effective workflow so that the production is delivered on time and on budget. Partnering with the CG Supervisor, ensuring the translating of the production's art direction into modeling and rigging, both creatively and technically.

Responsibilities:
• Communicate to Executive Producer, VP/General Manager, Line Producer and other appropriate production staff regarding the status of work and any problems that may arise.
• Ensure that the desired quality and style of show is being achieved within the parameters of the show's network-approved schedule and budget.
• Attend and contribute to all relevant production meetings.
• Assist with special projects as necessary. This could include but is not limited to main title, title cards, press art, style guide, tool kit and any network requests.
• Work with the Line Producer, CG Supervisor and appropriate production members to determine the most efficient way to expedite the production of the show, both internally and at vendor studios.
• Highlight cost implications of requests or changes in a timely manner.

Production:
• Oversee and assess the technical and aesthetic content of the script from premise to final draft to ensure it stays within the CG scope and inform Executive Producer, VP/General Manager, Line Producer of any concern.
• Contribute significantly to casting, production design and artistic staffing.
• Oversee the creation of detailed main model and episodic packs, including a minimum of expressions, character construction, mouth charts, character turnarounds, props main backgrounds.
• Attend voice recordings as required.
• Oversees storyboard directors, storyboard artists and animatic editors' work to ensure quality and style of show is met. Also presents possible solutions to storyboard and animatic schedule problems.
• Thoroughly review storyboards for timing and shipping and oversee revisions as necessary.
• Ensures all notes on storyboards, animatics and models are accurately addressed and within the CG scope.
• Review animatics at all stages in a timely manner, giving notes, guidance and revisions when necessary.
• Ensure all aspects of animation direction/timing are completed on schedule and in the style of the show.
• Communicate regularly with overseas studio regarding status of work.
• Review animation, providing notes/guidance to overseas studio in a timely fashion.
• Ensure overseas studio consistently adheres to quality and style of show.
• May require a visit to the overseas studio to review work being done on premises

Post Production :
• Overseas initial assembly of picture.
• Attend and contribute to initial picture edit and subsequent edits.
• Call, review and approve retakes within parameters of the show's retake allowance.
• Ensure that all creative retake materials are completed and sent to overseas studio in a timely fashion.
• Ensure that all retakes are cut into final picture upon return from overseas studio.
• If necessary, attend ADR recordings to ensure character continuity.
• Attend and contribute to music and sound effects spotting, preview and final mix.
• Attend color correction sessions.

• On-the-fly problem solving ability.
• Ability to be creative on demand.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable design software and hardware.

Additional Qualifications
• 5 – 7 years supervisory experience in animation preferred, per VP/General Manager's approval.
• Animation direction experience a plus.
• CG TV or feature experience.
