Job Description
The Technical Director / Photographer coordinates and executes all technical operator efforts during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.
• Work with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscasts
• Switch video sources and given direction at the same time during live broadcasts
• Supervise and assigns duties to workers engaged in technical control and production of programs
• Test equipment to ensure proper operation
• Capture video and edit stories for daily newscasts
• Take direction from producers, field crews and production personnel.
• Maintain and operate camera equipment and company vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Operate live and satellite truck as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency with broadcast control equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Edit and capture raw video for newscast on deadline
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere video editing system
• Professional image as a representation of the station at all times.
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in broadcasting, journalism, or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years' experience in news operations and production, including video editing and photography (Depending on market size)
Physical Requirements:
• Position requires the transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Schedule includes weekend on-call shift.
• Position often requires work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
