Job Description

The Hill's events team is seeking a senior content producer for its growing events portfolio. The Senior Producer will be working closely with the Executive Director of Events to develop content and lead speaker recruitment for policy briefings, social engagements, and other events for our advocacy and corporate clients. All events are currently virtual , but occasional in-person production assistance may be required. On-location events will resume when advisable.

Responsibilities:
• Create content for The Hill's events including tentpoles, summits, policy briefings, roundtable discussions, and newsmaker interviews
• Ensure that content development for all events adheres to The Hill's event guidelines that emphasize a balanced view of sectors and perspectives
• Collaborate closely with the newsroom to craft compelling and newsworthy content
• Serve as a content liaison with clients
• Lead targeted speaker recruitment for events on a wide range of topics in the policy and politics sphere
• Work closely with and support the logistics team from event concept to execution
• Write content proposals and work with the Executive Director of Events to develop and execute innovative new event formats

Skills and Attributes:
• Has in-depth knowledge of and interest in policy and politics issues and the working of Washington
• Has in-depth knowledge and experience in virtual, broadcast-quality programming in events or live news television
• Ability to keep pace with news developments and the functioning of Congress and the administration
• Self-motivated and brings an entrepreneurial approach to work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and tackle multiple projects at one time
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable, collaborative and a team player
• Ability to work independently, be proactive, and take initiative
• Ability to work out of our Washington, D . C .
offices upon reopening

Ideal candidates should have 6+ years of experience in a newsroom, media company , on Capitol Hill or in event management, public relations and/or communications. A Bachelor's degree is required.
