Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for crafting systems that collect, convert, and enrich raw data to provide usable information for business analysts and stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, the Senior Data Engineer will work closely with other data team members, and coordinate with multiple teams including Product, Engineering, Data Science, Content, Audience, Marketing, and Executive.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, reliable, and organized; and enjoys designing new systems, finding solutions and writing code. This is a key role in a growing team that is building out the next-gen analytics infrastructure for the nation's largest broadcast company.

Responsibilities
• Build on our current analytics capabilities to create a multi-platform, advanced analytics data solution
• Architect, develop, integrate, maintain, and improve the systems for holistic data sets from internal and external sources
• Create technical solutions that are accurate, resilient, observable and require minimal maintenance
• Establish and maintain a high level of data quality throughout our pipelines
• Document and demonstrate solutions by creating presentations, diagrams and documentation
• Help establish the short- and long-term needs of the data teams, including budget, resource and system requirements, and alliance management strategies required to lead and execute on key projects to solve complex business challenges
• Identify new data sources, tools and strategy for staying one step ahead of the competition

Technical Skills
• Software development experience including Python
• Advanced SQL knowledge and ability
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and tools, including Google Cloud Platform and AWS
• Working knowledge of data platforms such as BigQuery, Redshift and Snowflake
• Experience building data pipelines and transforming data between different formats
• Experience extracting data from APIs and building endpoints for data collection
• Understanding of pipeline tools such as Airflow
• Solid foundation in the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing and QA methods
• Proficiency with git and multi-environment deployments

General Experience
• 5+ years experience in a data engineering role
• Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer or Data Science

Preferred Experience
• Understanding of the digital media publishing space
• Current with data privacy concerns and tools
• Experience with Google Analytics and Google Ad Manager
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker and Data Studio
