Newscast Director

Job Description

2 NEWS is searching for a Newscast Director who will coordinate technical operations during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.

The candidate must be food with computers and technology and able to work under strict deadlines. Candidates must be flexible to work any shift including earlly mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends.

Duties & responsibilities include:
• Supervise and assign duties to workers engaged in technical control and production of programs.
• Observe video and live feeds through monitors and direct camera/video staff concerning composition.
• Work with the news producers and managers tro deliver a clean and high energy newscast.
• Switch video sources and give direction at the same time during live broadcasts.
• Test equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:
• High school diploma preferred
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Proficiency with broadcast control equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
