Newscast and Lifestyle Show Producer

WHO TV 13 is looking for a Part Time hybrid Producer position that will report to both News and at times Creative Services. This unique position could open great possibilities within WHO TV 13 and Nexstar. We can offer up to 30 hours per week and there could be some M-f and weekend hours available. This is a great opportunity to be involved with producing News, and the stations Lifestyle Show, Hello Iowa.

PURPOSE/REASON FOR THE POSITION: Produce newscasts and gather information for News stories for WHO-TV, WHO 13 News and www.who13.com.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB:
• Ability to produce weekday newscasts.
• Ability to write news stories.
• Ability to read information sources.
• Ability to handle live breaking news.
• Ability to handle deadline pressure.
• Ability to give directions to Anchors, Reporters, Photographers, and Directors.

PURPOSE/REASON FOR THE POSITION: Assist in producing of lifestyle show, Hello Iowa! Gather information and book guests for daily Lifestyle Show, Hello Iowa! Assist with preparation of video and digital assets for daily Lifestyle Show, Hello Iowa!

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB:
• Ability to produce stories and lifestyle program shows.
• Ability to write lifestyle program packages
• Ability to read and book email solicitations for lifestyle program.
• Ability to handle and troubleshoot issues with live production of lifestyle program.
• Ability to handle deadline pressure.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Valid driver's license

Computer literate

2 years television newsroom experience

2 years News producing experience preferred

4-year college degree preferred

Work under extreme pressure, deadlines, and adverse weather conditions.
