Media Coordinator Technician

Job Description

The Media Coordinator Technician helps station to operate master control in a spoke control automation model. Provides technical support for local content insertion and running the station smoothly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Review daily playlists for all stations, making sure that all content needed for air is loaded, or replaced
• Locate or generate appropriate non-news content for the same purposes
• Coordinate with master control hub, needed files, triggers or other necessary media
• Respond to messages, and direct messages to traffic coordinators for discrep report questions
• Review necessary logs, closed captioning forms, make sure that EAS messages are being properly executed
• Collaborate with other departments (sales and promotions) to manage necessary media for execution on air
• Provide technical support for the master control hub, and local master control operations
• Other technical support duties for the station facility as assigned by Chief Engineer

Requirements & Skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Knowledge of TV master control operations and automation systems
• Troubleshoot quickly and calmly
• Knowledge of air chain, EAS, Closed Captioning, and transmitter logs
• Positive attitude detail and audience oriented, good multitasking and organizational skills

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Media Coordinator Technician must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the effectiveness of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. The Media Coordinator Technician must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
