Job Description
The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, seeks an experienced Audience Engagement Manager to increase the reach and awareness of our virtual and in-person live events.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, you will support The Hill's ambitious growth goals by growing live attendance for our events as well as on-demand consumption of video recordings.

You will work within a dynamic, dedicated team of event and marketing professionals to build audience through multiple channels for programs which convene experts and influencers on the biggest policy challenges facing our country. The Hill is a trusted, credible, non-partisan media brand dedicated to helping people make more informed decisions by decoding and translating what happens in the capital.

In this role, you will be expected to:

1. Increase audience attendance and engagement
• Work with event producers on tailored audience development plans for each event, which will include e-mail newsletters, one-to-one outreach, paid and organic social promotion, etc.
• Create and manage focused and effective lead lists to seed event invitations
• Cultivate and expand partnerships with organizations who can amplify reach with relevant audiences
• Produce compelling social media content to help expand awareness of events and track its effectiveness to help optimize future campaigns

2. Increase on-demand video views of events
• Develop, execute and iterate on a cross-channel strategy to highlight compelling moments from The Hill's curated conversations
• Work with graphic designers and video editors to help transform our event archives into a living learning library designed around genuine user needs
• Grow followers/subscribers for youtube.com/@TheHillEvents and similar platforms

Candidates should have these skills and qualifications:
• Effective understanding of paid, owned and earned social media tactics
• Experience using analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives
• Highly resourceful team player, also able to be extremely effective independently
• Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and prioritization skills
• Able to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accuracy
• Interest in and general understanding of public affairs, government relations and advocacy
• Ideal candidates will have experience recruiting audiences for virtual and in-person live programming and prior experience within journalism, public relations, advocacy, communications and/or marketing

Compensation ranges from $60,000-$70,000 + commensurate with experience and skill level.
