Job Description
We're looking for an IT Technician to serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance. Perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions and determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers. We are looking for an apprentice technician to provide customers with assistance on computer systems. You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them. The technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to listen effectively to understand the problem and communicate possible solutions. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers. The goal is to create value for clients that will help preserve the company's reputation and business.

We operate in a mostly Microsoft Windows environment, but cover anything from Desktop Support, Basic Networking, Audio/Visual, Software Installation, iPads, Maintenance and Monitoring. This includes working with Apple Mac. You will also need working knowledge of basic server functions such as Backup, Active Directory and Group Policy.

Responsibilities:
• Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the organization
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
• Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components
• Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software
• Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices
• Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly
• Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation

Requirements & Skills:
• Knowledge of basic to intermediate computer hardware, printers and phone (VIOP)
• Networking Knowledge of basic to intermediate (DNS, DHCP, Ping … )
• Knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model
• Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows 7 and Mac OS
• Knowledge and experience in application support experience
• Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Solid understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
• Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Keen attention to detail
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Exceptional customer service orientation and focus
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Willingness to work the required schedule
• Must be able to lift/Carry 40 lbs and do installation/cabling in not easy access locations
