Reports to: Creative Services Director
PURPOSE/reason for this position:
This position is responsible for production of electronic graphics for newscasts, promos, PSAs and other station projects.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and executes 2-D still graphics using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Curious World Maps and any future software/hardware combinations. Designs and executes of 2-D and 3-D animated graphics using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects, Maxon Cinema 4-D, Curious World Maps or on future systems. Design and layout of digital and print ads, forms, etc using desktop publishing software as well as conventional tools. Assists with design and creation of props for commercials, promos, and displays. Assists with design and creation of visual aids for studio sets. Keeps inventory of all graphic work material, both print and electronic. Catalogs and archives materials for easy access by all members of the department. Performs other duties as needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Two years 2-D design experience. PC experience required. Working knowledge of professional animation systems, specifically Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4-D (or similar 3-D animation software), Chyron Character Generators, and Ross XPression or similar. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a must. Advanced knowledge of Visual Basic or other programming language a plus. Must be flexible with regard to working hours, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Experience with timeline animation and NLE tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Good manual dexterity in order to operate computer keyboards proficiently. Excellent eyesight and color perception. Valid Tennessee Driver's license.
